The Role

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Global Procurement, the Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities, including but not limited to partnering with internal stakeholders, data analysis, research, negotiation strategy development, proposal analysis, and vendor contract reviews and implementation. The assigned commodities span multiple categories, with an emphasis on Contingent Labor and Software. The Procurement Category Manager is an individual contributor who will also be responsible for managing select continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires dedicated problem solving, contract negotiations, internal stakeholder/vendor relations, and a solid understanding of procurement processes.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Create strong business relationships with internal stakeholders as a trusted advisor who influences buying behavior and drives savings.
  • Negotiate new and renewal agreements based on informed quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Analyze monthly spend reports and commodity market trends to identify opportunities for cost reductions.
  • Manage RFX activities as assigned.
  • Prepare and review vendor contracts, quotes, and proposals.
  •     Partner with Legal and Security teams during new vendor on boarding to ensure business requirements are met at engagement onset.
  • Vendor relations and management, including quarterly business reviews.
  •     Partner with internal business units to assist with development of business cases for new product/service requests with a focus on ROI and TCO.
  • Facilitate purchase requisition to purchase order creation process.
  • Work closely with the Finance team on budget spend to maximize cost efficiency within each department.
  •     Lead continuous improvement program initiatives as assigned.
  •     Champion SurveyMonkey Global Procurement Policy by providing stakeholder Q&A and training sessions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • Preferred 5 years experience in Procurement and Contract Administration.
  • Metrics driven, with the ability to exercise judgment and operate independently.
  • Ability to prioritize requests and communicate effectively in a deadline driven environment.
  • Experience contracting with labor related and SaaS providers.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Experience in data privacy or working with vendor DPAs is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of procurement systems, processes and best practices.
  • Proficient in Coupa P2P software, or comparable is desired.
  • Strong work ethic, team player, and a sense of humor.
